There is joy here on earth. There is joy in every handful of dirt.

With these words, Coco Love Alcorn opens up her song Wonderland. It is a reminder that I often need to hear. All too often, I fail to see the beauty in life, in love, in my relationships. This month, I have been thinking a lot about joy. How I experience joy. How I express it. How I feed it.

Music has always been my shortcut to joy. Last year, I created playlists that explored various themes that I was exploring alongside other Unitarian Universalists: blessing, letting go, creation . . . It seemed clear I needed to add songs of joy to the mix.

This time, however, I did something a little different. I asked friends and followers on Facebook and Instagram to tell me what songs lift them up. What follows is an eclectic mix of joyful hits. Follow the link to listen to Joy on Spotify and, if your favourite song is missing, let me know. There is always time for one more song.
